Acer Aspire AS5349-2899 Review Nice Budget Notebook - EASY MEMORY UPGRADE, This is a pretty nice notebook. The wide screen is crisp and clear. Default resolution of 1366 x 768 is quite acceptable. I paid 280 and bought a 4 GB memory module for 18 bucks. If you are upgrading the memory remove ALL the screws on the bottom of the notebook. Don't forget the 4 screws inside the battery compartment, and keep them separate from the others as they are smaller. All the other screws are the same size. Once all the screws are removed the back should come off. There are no ribbon cables to worry about. You just set the notebook upside down on a cloth on a table, remove all screws and pull the back plastic off. My fingernails are short and I was still able to gently pry the back off without a tool. If the DVD door cover comes off don't panic, just snap it back into place. Insert memory in the blank slot and screw it back together. remove the entire Presto, you have 6 GB memory. This is a snappy little notebook for under 300 clams. My Scores are Processor 5.3, RAM 5.5, Graphics 4.3, Gaming Graphics 5.7, Hard Disk 5.9.

Samsung Series 5 Chromebook Wi-Fi Review Specs

Samsung Series 5 Review  Simple and flawless, I was very cautious when buying this product. I mean intel atom, no offline compatibility, and no desktop? But for $300 why not? When i got these, i first noticed the design. It is lighter than my macbook air (wow), very thin, but cheap looking. This didn't pertain to me until i looked at the keyboard. I was disappointed because it BENDS. Still i restrained myself from sending it back and decided to actually use it. Now, im glad i did. I was shocked. The boot up was really quick and the screen was bright and clear, something i did not expect from a measly $300 laptop. setting up was quick and wala google chrome! The os is really simple and familiar (if you use chrome) The browsing speed was flawless. (noticeably faster than my quadcore desktop xps8500) what shocked me more was the battery life. Samsung advertises 7.5 hours of continuos use. I on the other hand get around 10 non-continuous hours of basically typing, watching youtube, and playing non-demanding flash games (epicmafia anyone?). The ONLY problem with this laptop other than the bending of the keyboard (which isn't a lot) is that there is no offline compatibility. Good thing i got Optimum wifi.

I am very pleased with this product... I like Toshiba computers after having my last one last six years with no breakdown. I like the color. The new one's battery has been lasting something under one and one-half hours, I think. Amazon delivered it quickly and in good shape. It runs with Windows 7 my old programs and new ones too. I had thought I would like to wait until Windows 8, to get a new computer, but I could not stand the old computer's slow and faulty running any longer. I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone who just needs a workhorse home computer. The price point seemed very good to me.

I run database programs for genealogy, word processing programs, and photo editing programs. I have a mapping program and use google earth and maps. I store and use a lot of MP3's from cd's and library books. I watch movies streamed from internet providers. I attach the computer to a printer and portable scanner, and print via a home network. No problems yet.

Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5540 Review  Great computer for the price!, My previous laptop was purchased in 2005 while I was overseas in Iraq and that was also a Toshiba Satellite laptop. At the time, it was a great laptop and got some great use out of it. It is dated which is why I decided to get a new laptop and chose another Toshiba Satellite. This one is easily an upgrade from my previous laptop which is why I gave it four stars. For the price, I believe that this laptop is perfect for me. Although there are a few minor complaints that I have about it.

-Adjusting the volume is a bit of a hassle. You have to use the function keys or touch pad to either turn down the volume or mute the computer. The two speakers aren't high quality either.

-Power button doesn't light up. Not a major issue, but I've accidentally turned off my laptop thinking that it had turned off. The screen had just gone into screen saver mode.

ASUS A53U-EH11 Review  asus A53U good laptop, bought 2 of these last week. First thing i noticed when box was opened was the shiny mocha color which was very attractive. booted up and graphics was great. Performance after installing some programs was very fast. One problem was that the speakers were very soft for altec lansing. Tried everything to get them to boosts even went into the bios but it was locked on setting "4". So headphones or external speakers required for good listening. Pc is very good for the price and gonna purchase another one soon.

Toshiba Portégé R835-P94 Review  Great Computer....Great Value, After 5 weeks of use, I have no reservations or buyer's remorse about purchasing this computer. I was looking to purchase a compact/lightweight full featured laptop as an alternative to a tablet. This computer meets or exceeds my expectations in every way. Some of the required specifications were that it needed to be lightweight, have generous storage, lots of connectivity (including USB V3.0), durable, and inexpensive. This computer met every requirement I was looking for. Those individuals that give this computer any less than 4 stars are not being realistic or judging it as something it was never intended it to be. True, it doesn't have a backlit keyboard, an ultra fast hard drive, a HD mat display, a blu ray player or non-shiny hinges (really...who cares?). These are all relatively minor compromises and quite frankly, for the number of things this computer does well, it is an amazing value! For those who complain about all the items listed above, please take your extra $800 and get the features you desire instead of criticizing this computer.

I've added 8 GB of high speed memory and optimized the start-up and shutdown times. I use it daily on the train and it functions extremely well. The long battery life is especially appreciated. I've had to adjust the sensitivity of the drive heads as we bounce along, position the screen so the reflection is not as great and be mindful of the display (it is thin) but really, I've encountered no negative issues so far. For the $699.00 I paid for this R835-P94 Protégé (including Bluetooth) it's a real bargain. Buy it and you'll have no regrets.

Dell Inspiron i14RN-1227BK 14-Inch Laptop Review Specs

Dell Inspiron i14RN-1227BK Review  Excellent machine for the price, I am delighted with this purchase. I use it for business about 12 hours every day of the week. Staples had these on sale for $449 and was giving a $100 Visa card rebate with every purchase, so I could not resist the sub $400 price.

Pros: The PC is fast and reliable. Boot time and wake up time is *much* faster than my old Compaq Vista. Win7 is a much faster and user-friendly OS than Vista or XP. 6 Gig of memory on this laptop ensures the applications run smoothly and seamlessly with many windows open at once. The laptop is relatively small and light yet has pretty much all the features of a powerful desktop. Keypad feels very nicely when you are typing. The trackpad has some neat new features and is very adjustable. Machine automatically shuts off the trackpad when you plug in a mouse.
